Instructions for Backing-up Your Computer Files.

  1. Double-click on My Computer and go to the location of your target files on the C:/ drive.
  2. On the Windows desktop you will see an icon called Briefcase.  Open the Briefcase icon on the desktop by double-clicking on it.
  3. Click the Next button.
  4. Select and drag the files from your hard drive into the Briefcase window.
  5. Now, drag this Briefcase icon onto your floppy disk under My Computer.
  6. When you need to work on your files away from your home computer, access the copy of these files within the Briefcase
  7. When you come back home, insert your disk with the Briefcase in it, double-click the Briefcase icon to open it, then choose Update All from the tool bar.  Your files on the hard disk and the floppy disk will begin synchronizing.
  8. If you do any work with these same files on your hard drive, insert your floppy disk as in #7 above and synchronize the files.  This is the best method for backing up your files for your English course.
