This is my thirteenth year teaching
at Fullerton College. Hired as a full-time professor beginning the 1997-98
academic year, I have been teaching English in the California Community
College system for 19 years On campus, I have other roles in addition to that of "teacher." For the English Department, I serve on the technology committee and serve as the campus coordinator for our
Turnitin.com site license. Additionally, I am the the outgoing editor of inside english, the professional journal of the English Council of California Two-Year Colleges (ECCTYC). | You are welcome to read my "curriculum vitae". It is like a resume, but instead of it being only 1-2 pages long, a vita is a history of one's professional work. So mine lists, among other things, courses I have taught, publications, any projects I have been involved with, conferences and workshops I have attended or given, organizations I belong to, my volunteer work, and this document grows throughout one's professional life. Hence the Latin phrase: curriculum vitae, meaning "course of life." For the last
sixteen years, I have been married to my wife, Christine. When I have free time, I start a remodeling project |
around the home. A few summers ago I tackled the family room, resurfacing the ceiling and removing the carpet and vinyl tile underneath so that I could lay ceramic tiles instead. So far I have four other floors on my resume--a hardwood floor, 2 ceramic floors, and a saltillo floor, all in my former home.
A few summers ago, I finished tiling a couple bathroom floors and installed 700 square feet of hardwood planks in the upstairs area. I completed the other 700 square feet of hardwood floors downstairs. And this
December of 2007, I retiled the kitchen floor in travertine with marble and wood inlays. |
