For anyone who was absent on Wed. last week, this is a reminder to bring your revised version of Essay 4 to class on Monday because we will do a short APA technical review workshop checking your References list, your manuscript format, and your in-text citations (the latter are fairly different from the MLA parenthetical notes you all have mastered by now).

You just need 1 clean copy of your draft for class on Monday.  Everyone needs to attend; please be on time.  This is also worth points!

Also, I'd like someone to volunteer to bring their draft on a flash drive so that we can see a live sample to work from.  The first interested person to respond to this email will be able to go through this technical review with the help of everyone.

24 FEB-08

  • Weekly Schedule:  The schedule has been updated due to an an error in week 16.  You may print out a new version if you like.

  • Essay 1 w/ Late Coupon:  Essay 1 is due on 27-Feb if you are using your late essay coupon.  Just attach it to the top of your essay when you submit it.

  • Turnitin.com:  Please remember to upload your essay to Turnitin.com if you have not already completed that task.

  • MLA Essay Template:  If you have not done so yet, please be sure to download and customize the MLA Essay Template that matches the word processor you use.  Go click on the Essay Assignments link to the left, read the instructions, and then customize the template accordingly. You will need to use this template for all future assignments that require the MLA document format.

  • Turnitin.com: Several of you still need to enroll yourselves in Turnitin.com. Please complete that task by next class meeting on Monday by using the class ID code and password provided on the Task Sheet you have received in class.

  • Email Test: Also--several of you have not yet replied to my previous email test.  Please do so so that I can be sure your emails to not get deleted by my overzealous spam filter.

  • Welcome (back) to Fullerton College and English 201.  If you've enrolled in English 201 or are thinking about it, feel free to browse around and get acquainted with the website so that you know where things are at.  I will be updating pages and information on a regular basis, so be aware of the update date at the top left of all the pages.
  • A good place to start is the course syllabus.
