All
students studying abroad, beginning with the Spring 2007
semester, are required by the NOCCCD District to purchase Study Abroad
Insurance. Even though some of you may have insurance already, the
purchase of Study Abroad Insurance is mandatory in order to
participate in our Study Abroad Programs. The company is Accordia
Somerton Student Insurance Services.
Note: To receive your insurance enrollment
package in the mail, students must register for their Study Abroad
insurance at least 3 weeks prior to departure.
Enrollment deadline is May 9 2007.
-
Click on Enroll online (on left of site)
-
Choose By State (CA). Click Go.
-
Click CA Community colleges and click View
Schools.
-
Click on Fullerton College.
-
Under "Available Policies," scroll down to: 2007
Global Study Abroad--Outbound
-
From here you can click on enroll and view the
brochure describing the details of the policy. You can also view the
claim form that is to be used abroad. (It's a good idea to
print out the claim form to keep for emergencies.) Answer
the citizenship question and then click Submit.
-
To enroll online, you click on Weekly term, read
the agreement, then click the I Agree and Continue Enrollment
button.
-
Complete
the Enrollee Information screen and click Show Available Rates.
-
Choose the Deluxe plan. Complete the travel
start and end dates. Then click the Select Plan button.
-
On the
Insurance Rate Pricing page, select the DLX-DELUXE
$10.75 per term option box. Then click the
Select Plan button.
-
On the
next screen, complete the address and billing information and submit
your registration.
-
Online you must pay with a credit card. You can also
call Customer Care at 800-853-5899 to pay by phone with a credit card.
-
To pay with a check, you will have to print out the
enrollment form at the back of the brochure (online), fill it out, and
mail it to Somerton. (Registering online is much faster, so I
recommend this method of payment.)
If you cancel your insurance prior to trip departure (31
May), you will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.
Please email
Patricia Thomas, the Study Abroad Program Coordinator if you have any
questions.
