Evaluating Your Internet Sources

In addition to the notes in the PowerPoint file, "The Internet Vs. The Library: How to Locate and Critically Assess Your Academic Research in the Digital Age" from the previous week's lecture, here is some required reading for evaluating the value of Internet resources.  Expect to be tested on this material.

  This page put together by the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL), is succinct, clear, and easy to read.  It is a good place to start.
• Another site at Johns Hopkins University is also a good resource for thinking about the usefulness and validity of sources you find on the Internet, especially the WWW.
