- Generally, I will release quizzes on
Sunday, and you have
until Saturday midnight to complete the quiz. I record your quiz grades at
the end of that 7-day period. Then I move on to the next week and release
the next quiz. If you do not complete your quiz within the 7-day period,
you lose the quiz points. In the event I release a
quiz in the middle of the week, you will still have 7 days to take the quiz.
And remember, you may not make up missed work.
- Some weeks may include multiple
quizzes, but this will be rare.
- Generally the quizzes are meant to evaluate your reading
comprehension and to give you immediate feedback on your understanding of the
readings. The quizzes will also check your knowledge of the
concepts of the course that pertain to writing and
research skills.
- Quizzes are timed, and the quiz at CE 6 will indicate how
much time you have to complete the quiz. I have taken into consideration
that some of you have slow modems (28.8 is the minimum, 56.6 preferred), so you
will have 10-15 minutes, depending
on the quiz, to complete the quiz.
- Read the directions carefully before you begin the quiz.
I recommend printing out the quiz directions at least for the first time so that
you can refer to them easily.
- It is imperative that you shut down all
other programs other than the web browser you are using while taking
quizzes. Chat tools have been known to interfere with the CE 6 quiz tool.
Grading:
Generally, quizzes are 10 questions, 10 points. These are raw points that
will be scaled to fit the percentage stated in the Grading Policy of the
course syllabus. Click on
the my grades button on the CE 6 homepage to view your quiz scores after you
have completed a quiz. |
